We build the frame with strong pressure-treated lumber and paint it white to match the barn for a clean, seamless look. In addition, we wrap the structure in 1” x 1” black PVC-coated critter fencing, which keeps cats secure while allowing open views and steady airflow.

Because we built the catio beneath an existing structure, we used matching black PVC-coated critter fencing across the top to create a safe, open-air roof. This design lets in sunlight and fresh air while still protecting your cats. To improve comfort even more, we added bug screening to help keep insects out.
