The Whisker Way
The Whisker Way is a stunning custom catio and tunnel system designed to give cats the ultimate outdoor adventure while keeping them safe. Built from cedar lumber and secured with 1x1 black PVC-coated critterfencing, this project features two main catios connected by up to 60 feet of elevated tunnels. The first catio (2’ x 5’ x 8’) includes a wood-walled base for privacy and leads into a long tunnel system that winds toward the fence by the hot tub, complete with scenic perches near the pergola and above the fence opening for birdwatching and lounging. The second structure offers two additional enclosures (3’ x 2’ x 8’ and 5’ x 3’ x 8’) outfitted with bug screening, shelves, and ramps to encourage climbing and play. With a clear polycarbonate roof overhead, The Whisker Way blends beauty, durability, and function, creating a multi-level playground where cats can roam, perch, and explore to their hearts’ content.
