The Enclosed Haven
The Enclosed Haven transforms an existing patio into a secure outdoor sanctuary for cats through full enclosure using 1x1 black PVC-coated critterfencing. Built with pressure-treated lumber for all ground contact and Douglas fir for framing, shelves, and ramps, this design combines structural strength with a refined aesthetic. Each piece of lumber is painted for protection and visual appeal, blending seamlessly with the home’s architecture. Inside, multiple shelves and angled ramps offer vertical exploration and lounging opportunities, while a dedicated human-access door ensures easy entry and maintenance. This fully custom build includes design, all materials, on-site construction, and installation—creating a beautiful, functional, and safe extension of the home that lets cats enjoy the outdoors in comfort and security.
The Garage Run Retreat
This custom 8’ wide × 12’ deep × 9’ tall catio creates a spacious backyard adventure zone, built on a sturdy deck base with pressure-treated lumber and enclosed in 1/2" × 1/2" black PVC-coated welded wire fencing for added security. Topped with a classic ribbed steel metal roof and left in its natural wood finish with no paint or stain, the structure blends durability with a clean, rustic look. Inside, shelves and ramps form an energetic climbing system leading to two cozy cat cubbies and a natural cedar floor-to-ceiling scratch post for enrichment. A 10-foot tunnel (2’ deep × 3’ tall) runs from a cat door through the garage door area, extending behind the garage between the structure and fence to reach the window—carefully designed to stay below fence height while covering both windows for safe access. With a deadbolt-ready human access door and a planned walking gap between the catio and fence, this build delivers a secure, thoughtfully engineered outdoor extension that turns tight side-yard space into a fully connected feline playground.
